  •     Reading Royal Wisdom: The Most Daft, Cheeky, and Brilliant Quotes from Britain's Royal Family provides a refreshing respite from the many tragedies that exist in our world.Kate Petrella presents an array of incredible royal remarks in an entertaining manner that will delight readers of all ages.I heartily recommend this charming and engaging book to everyone.
  •     I may have enjoyed it more if there were more quotes from Harry and William and Kate. Some quotes from Diana were quite sad, and then there was actual quotes from Camilla to Diana about the affair. I guess I am clueless, but I never got into all that back then, too young to follow more than how cute her sons were. That was a bit shocking, and overall I'm happy it was free.
  •     as a royalist,i was totally delighted with this book.the windsors are, indeed, human. being able to laugh at yourself is a classy skill.
  •     I thought I was the "Queen of Faux Pas" until I read this book. I'm just a lowly "baroness". Loved it!Fav quotes:"Dontopedalogy is the science of opening your mouth and putting your foot in it, a science which I have practiced for a good many years." Philip speaking to the General Dental Council."We've had a good education. Doesn't show, but we have." Harry
  •     Great British wit, and dry humor, some Americans, may not get, however still very funny!
  •     This book is light hearted and funny!Much to my delight as Brit in Canada I found it a really good read.I particularly enjoyed revisiting (because I am old enough to remember when things happened) all of Prince Philip's gaffes!read it in one sitting but will read again no doubt!
  •     A quick and fun read. Without a doubt my favorite quotes were from Prince Phillip. I purchased some copies from Amazon as gifts to others who willget a chuckle out of the book.
  •     Most of the quotes were the ones typically recycled throughout the media and horribly out of context. This was a colossal waste of money.
  •     You would learn more & be better entertained if you just goggled royal quotes.Punchlines on their own are rarely funny.
  •     Perhaps if I shared the British love of understatement I would have found this book funny. It isn't. Heretofore unknown quotes were rare, and those which were, were not amusing. And don't be confused by the reported number of pages: they include large separations of the quotes on each page and a drawing of a British pay phone in between chapters. Don't waste your money.
  •     The royals got married and the world watched on TV. Meanwhile those of us who enjoyed previous royal weddings found our thoughts moving back in time to shared memories. Kate Petrella's ebook of Royal Wisdom (and royal gaffes) was a perfect gift to share with my mother, whose memories of royal weddings go much further back than mine. We recalled famous feet firmly planted in famous mouths; delightfully wise and off-beat sayings; comments surprising, hilarious, thought-provoking and sweet. And we enjoyed a happy afternoon together, reading our favorite quotes aloud and supping tea.If you're a fan of the British royals, or a delighter in curious sayings and embarrassing blunders, this book's for you. It's a great introduction to the Kindle too with pleasing black-and-white graphics, neatly defined chapters, and a pleasing font.Disclosure: I was lucky enough to get this free on my Kindle just before going to England to visit my Mum.
